Background Location Access

• The App may request access to your location data even when the App is not in active use, specifically for:
  • Continuous GPS tracking during active navigation sessions
  • Maintaining position hold features while the App is minimized
  • Running foreground services that display ongoing navigation notifications

2.2 Bluetooth Connectivity Data

• The App collects Bluetooth device identifiers and MAC addresses to communicate with PacMotor hardware devices
• Signal strength (RSSI) data is collected to determine device proximity and connection quality
• Firmware version information from connected devices is read to ensure compatibility and security
• Bluetooth connection status and device pairing information

2.3 Device Sensor Data

Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) Data

• The App collects compass/magnetometer data from your device's IMU to determine heading and orientation
• Calibration offsets for compass accuracy are stored locally on your device
• This sensor data is used for heading lock and directional control features

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

• GPS location history and waypoint data are stored locally on your device using secure data stores (DataStore preferences)
• Compass calibration settings are stored locally and encrypted where possible
• The App implements local filtering and processing of GPS data to minimize transmission

4.2 Foreground Services

• When you initiate navigation features (Spot Lock or Waypoint Navigation), the App runs a foreground service that:
  • Displays an ongoing notification indicating GPS tracking is active
  • Continues to collect location data while the App is minimized
  • Can be stopped at any time by disabling the active feature or closing the App

4.3 Security Measures

• Bluetooth communication with PacMotor devices uses encryption protocols
• Location data is transmitted securely when required
• We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information
• However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect and process data:

Google Maps

• Google Services collect location data to display maps and navigation features

6. Permissions Explained

All location permissions are used exclusively for navigation purposes and not for tracking or advertising.

• Active Session Data: GPS location and sensor data are processed in real-time and not retained after your navigation session ends
• Waypoint Data: You control how long waypoints are stored; you may delete them at any time
• Calibration Settings: Compass calibration is stored indefinitely until you perform a new calibration
• App Analytics: Usage and crash data may be retained for up to 90 days for analytics purposes
• Backups: If you enable Android backup, some app data may be included in your device backups

You can clear app data at any time through Android Settings, which will delete locally stored information.

8. Children's Privacy

The PacMotor App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Access and Control

• You can review the permissions the App requests in your Android device settings
• You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's permission management

• Clearing the App's cache and data through Android Settings will remove stored waypoints and calibration data
• We will delete analytics data in accordance with our retention policies
